Ready to map out your life?

Ready to map out your life?

Whoa. Big question - are you ready for it? Do you know where you're going or where you want to be in the next month, year, 10 years? Success has different meanings to each person, so there is no one story tells all. Everyone has to create their own map. Their own directions to their success story.

If you don't, you might be going in circles the rest of your life. Jim Rohn, a very, very wise man believed you need to ask yourself these 5 questions:

  1. What do I want to do?

  2. Who do I want to be?

  3. What do I want to see?

  4. What do I want to have?

  5. Where do I want to go?

You may have a general idea of answers to these, but let's get to the good stuff. The hard, written down, visualized map of your life.

Stick with us here, it might get a little wordy...

Start by listing 3-6 simple answers to the questions. What do I want to do? Sail, travel, buy a house, etc. Try to inspire yourself to find things you didn't know you wanted to do. Once you're satisfied with your goals list, start categorizing when you think you can do these things, 1 year, 3 years, 5 years, 10 years.

Hopefully, you have a well-balanced list for each year, if not, take a look. Where do you need to add goals and where to subtract? Once you have your list fairly squared away, we get into the fun part!

Pick 4 goals in each year, or whatever number you have, we're not picky, and start to really visualize what that will look like. Right now your goals should just be simple, shorthand lines but we're going to grow them into reality! Start seeing each goal as if it were right now and write down your feelings, what you see, maybe what you smell, where you're at, etc. You want to see your goal clearly.

Okay, let's go one step further. Let's figure out the "why". Why is this your goal? Any goal is a powerful motivator if there's a powerful reason behind it. If you don't have a clear, convincing why - take a second look and evaluate it.

This list may seem a little daunting but no one ever said achieving your goals and dreams are easy! But being a better human isn't about being perfect. It's about striving to be better.

So we ask you again - are you ready to map out your life?
